{"id":2762,"date":"2013-01-30T13:45:19","date_gmt":"2013-01-30T06:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/?p=2762"},"modified":"2016-05-28T15:02:13","modified_gmt":"2016-05-28T08:02:13","slug":"custom-rom-picopad-gdk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/?p=2762","title":{"rendered":"custom ROM PICOpad GDK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This cute 4 inch smartphone is still using MTK6575 and 4.0.4 ICS os and had common average performance with single core mtk6575.\u00a0Likes this model because it fits perfectly in my small palm, but i really hate the default icon template brought by the default stock rom &#8230; so for you who own this device for sometime and want to try something new , here is the custom rom from me, it&#8217;s pretty fast and responsive after some tweak.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PicoPad_GDK_ics.png\" rel=\"lightbox[2762]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4161 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PicoPad_GDK_ics-190x300.png\" alt=\"PicoPad_GDK_ics\" width=\"190\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>As before, cooked with dsixda rom kitchen, with ingredients as follows :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sysctl tweak for increasing internet network performance (basically it\u2019s a common network ip4 tweak from klixs, but it is working good on my galaxy nexus and nexus 7 custom rom)<\/li>\n<li>some battery saver tweak (forgot where i get this from, only copy paste-ing from my tomboy, sorry)<\/li>\n<li>some dalvikvm performance tweak (forgot too where i get this from, sorry)<\/li>\n<li>some gps performance tweak (from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jfdesignnet\/status\/235339577236287489\">here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>entropy generator tweak<\/li>\n<li>rooted with su, busybox, and SuperSU Chainfire included\u00a0 + unsecured boot.img<\/li>\n<li>init.d support (of course)<\/li>\n<li>some custom artwork<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">deodexed all apps and framework<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And here we go the custom rom :<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"picopad_gdk_K2-75-AXIOO-1227_jfdesignnet_300113_1324.zip\" href=\"http:\/\/ge.tt\/1H6R9QX\/v\/0\">picopad_gdk_K2-75-AXIOO-1227_jfdesignnet_300113_1324<\/a><\/p>\n<p>MD5 : 403fe3132c7d3888885bf82152c8392e<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And here is the steps to flash this custom rom to your axioo picopad GDK :<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Requirement and Preparation :<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Read this thoroughly :<br \/>\n<em><strong>Your warranty is now void<\/strong> !!!<\/em><br \/>\nI am not responsible if you brick your phone, get stuck in a bootloop, or if your phone grows arms and tries to kill you. Flash at your own risk!<br \/>\n<em> Please do some research if you have any concerns about risk of flashing a custom rom before continuing! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you!!<\/em><br \/>\n<em> If you have any other objection, don\u2019t bother to comment, just close this page!<\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">This custom ROM is not for noobs, it is not for faint hearted, because in this article I will not explain how to get CWM recovery for your picopad GDK. The process and tools how to get cwm recovery is somewhat winblows centric, and i don\u2019t like either to discuss nor explain, so you must find yourself a way how to get those CWM to your device. At least, I can show you the way, here is <a href=\" http:\/\/frans.web.id\/2012\/12\/cwm-recovery-untuk-picopad-gfi\/\" target=\"_blank\">the how to, <\/a>and here is the cwm recovery i build for this device : <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediafire.com\/download\/nr7q602m6964cg8\/recovery-cwm-gdk.img\" target=\"_blank\">recovery-cwm-gdk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><strong>Flashing Process :<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/?attachment_id=2777\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2777\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/picopad-gdk-cwmflash-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"picopad-gdk-cwmflash\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>The steps to flash this custom rom is pretty straight forward :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Download the custom rom from link above and copy it to the root of your sdcard, you may check it first with your file manager to confirm it was there. There are two sdcard storage on picopad GDK so you must know it\u2019s at the internal sdcard or external sdcard. I prefer you put this on external sdcard to avoid any difficulties.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Boot into clockworkmod CWM recovery mode by turning off your phone, hold down Volume + button then press power button, hold them both until you feel a long vibration then release it, the axioo logo will appear. Wait a sec or two \u2026 then you\u2019re in cwm recovery mode. You can navigate it through the menu using volume + and \u2013 button, and to executing the highlight menu you can press power button.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>BACKUP<\/strong> your stock rom and data using nandroid backup first !!!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Choose <strong><em>Wipe Data \/ Factory reset<\/em><\/strong> and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Choose <strong><em>Wipe cache partition<\/em><\/strong> and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Go to <em>Advanced<\/em> menu, choose <strong><em>Wipe Dalvik Cache<\/em><\/strong> and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Go back to main menu, and choose <strong><em>Install zip from sdcard<\/em><\/strong> menu and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you were put the custom rom on the internal sdcard, then choose <em>Install from internal sdcard<\/em>, otherwise choose <em>Install from external sdcard<\/em>. Navigate to the custom rom location and execute it.
