Rather than only the custom recovery, I also build the custom rom for this device for fun and here we go the complete rom in OTA package format (flash via cwm or twrp) and in spflashtool package format (flash via spflashtool from PC).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are the features :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Android 4.2.1 with 3.4.5 kernel<\/li>\n<li>Rooted, busybox, fully deodexed, zipaligned<\/li>\n<li>rooted boot.img<\/li>\n<li>init.d support + busybox run parts<\/li>\n<li>gps, bt, hsdpa tweak<\/li>\n<li>phone storage and sdcard swap<\/li>\n<li>Superuser by Clockworkmod (thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/103583939320326217147\">Koush<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>entropy generator tweak (thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/member.php?u=1107425\">lambgx02<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Removed unnecessary and bloatware apps<\/li>\n<li>\u2026 something i forgot to list<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And here we go the custom rom :<\/p>\n<p>Download : <a title=\"acer-liquid-e2_signed_4.2.1_jfdesignnet_080513_013138.zip\" href=\"http:\/\/ge.tt\/3YazqCo\/v\/0\" target=\"_blank\">acer-liquid-e2_signed_4.2.1_jfdesignnet_080513_013138<\/a><\/p>\n<p>MD5 : 76377edc95b315ad55e61566564c7c6b<\/p>\n<p>And here is the steps to flash this custom rom :<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Requirement and Preparation :<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Read this thoroughly :<br \/>\n<em><strong>Your warranty is now void<\/strong> !!!<\/em><br \/>\nI am not responsible if you brick your phone, get stuck in a bootloop, or if your phone grows arms and tries to kill you. Flash at your own risk!<br \/>\n<em> Please do some research if you have any concerns about risk of flashing a custom rom before continuing! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you!!<\/em><br \/>\n<em> If you have any other objection, don\u2019t bother to comment, just close this page!<\/em><\/li>\n<li>This custom rom need a custom recovery to flashed into the device, if you haven\u2019t got it, get it here : <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/?p=3174\" target=\"_blank\">TWRP and CWM recovery Acer Liquid E2<\/a>. Both are working good for this device, get it whichever you like.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Warning!!!, Please make sure your device is acer Liquid E2 Duo with dual simcard slot, this custom rom WILL NOT WORK on Liquid E2 device with single simcard.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><strong>Flashing Process :<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The steps to flash this custom rom is pretty straight forward :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Download the custom rom from link above and copy it to the root of your sdcard, you may check it first with your file manager to confirm it was there. There are two sdcard storage on this device, so you must know it\u2019s at the internal sdcard or external sdcard. I prefer you to put this on external sdcard to avoid any difficulties.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Boot into recovery mode by turning off your phone, hold down Volume + button then press power button, hold them both until you see acer logo on screen then release it. Wait a sec or two \u2026 then you\u2019ll be in recovery mode.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">BACKUP your stock rom and data using BACKUP feature, make sure you use external storage as destination because this backup is relatively big.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Choose <strong><em>Wipe Data \/ Factory reset<\/em><\/strong> and execute it.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Choose <strong><em>Wipe cache partition<\/em><\/strong> and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Choose <strong><em>Wipe Dalvik Cache<\/em><\/strong> and execute it<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Go back to main menu, and choose <strong><em>Install<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will open a list of file on your sdcard, choose the custom rom zip file that you put on step 1 and flash it.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the installation completed, choose <em><strong>Reboot System<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Done<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is the result after flash :<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-workspace.png\" rel=\"lightbox[3179]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3194 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-workspace-169x300.png\" alt=\"liquid-e2-workspace\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-menubar.png\" rel=\"lightbox[3179]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3193 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-menubar-169x300.png\" alt=\"liquid-e2-menubar\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-customrom-4.2.1.png\" rel=\"lightbox[3179]\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3192 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jfdesignnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/liquid-e2-customrom-4.2.1-169x300.png\" alt=\"liquid-e2-customrom-4.2.1\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Custom ROM in SPFlashTool Format :<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This SPFlashtool format custom rom is needed to inject the twrp recovery I explain on another article.
