Ready or not, some day, it will come to an end.
\nThere will be no more surprises: no more minutes, hours or days.
\nAll things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass on to some else.
\nYour wealth, fame, and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
\nIt will not matter what you owed or what you were owed.
\nYour grudges, resentments , frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
\nSo, too, will your hopes, ambitions, plans, and your to- do lists will expire.
\nThe wins and losses, that once seemed so important, will fade away.
\nAt the end, it won\u2019t matter where you were born or on what side of the tracks you lived.
\nIt won\u2019t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
\nEven your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
\nSo, what will matter?
\nHow will the value of your days be measured?
\nWhat will matter is not what you bought, but what you built\u2026
\nNot what you got but what you gave.
\nWhat will matter is not your success, but your significance.
\nWhat will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
\nWhat will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered, or encouraged others to emulate your example.
\nWhat will matter is not your competence, but your character.
\nWhat will matter is not how many people knew you, but how many people will feel a lasting loss when you\u2019re gone.
\nWhat will matter are not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
\nWhat will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom, and for what.
\nLiving a life that matters doesn\u2019t happen by accident.
\nIt\u2019s not a matter of circumstances but a matter of choice.
